Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. Audrey Tautou is the fourth child of 4 children. At a young age, both her dental doctors parents and teacher mom supported her love of theatre and drama. It was this love which trumped her original desire to be the first primatologist. She rose to prominence as an actress in her early years and with great popularity and success. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning the journey to become an actor. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church in her youth and was educated Catholic. But she has since gotten away from the Catholic tradition. In addition to acting, she pursued modelling and was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She is a keen photographer and has recently exhibited during the Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on celebrity and fame, and focuses the camera on those who scrutinized her when she exploded to fame with Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's debut performance, in the role of Amelie Poulain's lead actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, brought her fame to the world. Amelie received international acclai the box office and received acclaim at awards ceremonies across the globe. It remains the highest grossing French language film to date in the US. The film's success led Tautou to a variety of roles, ranging from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
